Technical Environmental Services is centrally located at 775 N. Second St, Brighton, MI. Residential and commercial UST removal and remediation are our specialty. We are also able to assist with Phase I/II Site assessments and baseline environmental assessments (BEA’s).

TES can remove a UST in a rapid time frame, often within three days. We provide services such as contracts with MISS DIG, removal of residual fuel, excavation of tanks, disposal of tanks and backfill of holes to rough grade. Other services include: Lab testing of soil samples, removal of contaminated soil, furnishing and installation of above-ground fuel tanks, and removal of basement tanks.

Life of underground home heating fuel tanks:

• Tanks in a clay environment- 8 to 12 years before leaking.
• Tanks in a sand environment – 15 to 30 years before leaking.
• Tanks in a water table – 4to 10 years before leaking.
• All steel tanks eventually leak.
• We recommend all older home heating underground tanks be removed and above ground tanks be installed.
• All abandoned underground fuel tanks must be a removed within one year abandonment
• (Michigan State law R29.4404, Part 2-2.8.)
